The conference will take place at the University of Melbourne Parkville Campus, primarily in the Old Arts building (149), with a few sessions in the adjacent Old Quad building (150).
A campus map is available here: https://maps.unimelb.edu.au/.
You can zoom in to see the floor plans of the buildings. We have copied the main campus map and floor plan below. You can also use Google Maps to navigate between all the named buildings on campus.
For public transport options to the campus, you can enter your current location and travel destination into the Public Transport Victoria Journey Planner for detailed instructions on tram, train and bus connections.
The Registration Desk will be located in the foyer outside the William Macmahon Ball Theatre in the Old Arts building. This will be staffed from 8.45-9.15am on both days of the conference (tea and coffee will be available), as well as during scheduled breaks.
Room information for individual sessions is noted on the program. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will take place in the foyer outside the William Macmahon Ball Theatre. The Reception on Monday evening will be held inside the Arts Hall (222, Level 2, Old Arts building).
Paper format – speakers should prepare to present a 20 minute paper. All papers will be followed by 10 minutes of question time. Chairs will be provided with instructions and timing ‘warning’ sheets.
Speakers are asked to BYO water bottles. We will not be providing bottled water for environmental reasons. Paper cups will be available for those caught short.
Participants are also encouraged to BYO a coffee cup (biodegradable cups will be available).
We will have a Book Table (unstaffed) next to the registration desk. Members are welcome to bring copies of publications but will need to manage sales themselves.
Conference Publications – a special issue of Lilith will ensue from the conference. We will communicate further about this following the conference. Other publication possibilities being considered.
The AWHN encourages participants to consider donating to the Palestine Australian Relief and Action Foundation https://para.org.au/
